As told to the author by a local as the two stood around drinking beer while watching a man clean fish.

When I imagine the carefree life cruising the islands, this is the image that comes to mind. Aptly named the Dream Weaver. Lovely.

Chalks - Picture 3 of 3. At take-off the plane taxis down the ramp and onto the water. The old hotel in the background is the first thing you see as you enter Bimini Harbor. Only in Bimini can a hotel on prime waterfront remain derelict for decades...

Bimini is home to about 1,700 Bahamians, known as Biminites. Most live in Alice Town or just north in Bailey Town / Porgy Bay.

Island History

For most of Bimini's history, children had to go away to Nassau or Freeport for schooling. There were no schools on the island.
